Pets, especially dogs and cats, thrive in environments where they feel safe and secure. A sudden change in surroundings—such as a grooming or veterinary visit—can be a traumatic experience for them. Separation anxiety, which is common among pets, can be exacerbated by unfamiliar settings. In contrast, when pets are cared for within the comfort of their own home, they are in a familiar environment, surrounded by their favorite toys, bedding, and the scents they associate with comfort and safety.
For example, a dog may become anxious or distressed when left with a groomer because of unfamiliar smells, sounds, or the presence of other animals. Similarly, a cat may struggle with territorial stress when removed from its home. By keeping them in their usual surroundings, owners can minimize such anxieties, promoting a sense of calm and well-being for their pets.
